Installing and Licensing Avid Pro Tools

Installing

Install Pro Tools and the appropriate plugins.  Installers can be found by clicking on the link below

Check if your Mac or PC hardware and operating system is supported at this web page.

Also download the Remote_iLok_Configuration.zip file

Unzip it to reveal this file:

com.paceap.eden.floating.v1.server.config.prefs

You will use this when activating Pro Tools.

 

Activating Pro Tools Ultimate

To use Pro Tools Ultimate off campus you must do the following.

  1. Open the iLok License Manager software (it should be installed when you install Pro Tools – if not go to www.ilok.com)

Go to the the iLok License Manager Menu and choose Preferences…

Go to My Connections and enter your name and your [email protected] email address.

Then click the small + button and choose ‘Add server with config file’

then navigate to the .prefs file you unzipped above.

You should see the following result:

Click Ok and then go the the Network Tab to verify the licenses you can use.

Then launch Pro Tools and make something sound nice!
