Marketing Materials - Schapiro
Deadlines for Marketing Materials can be found on the Schapiro Dates and Deadlines document.
You are responsible for:
Email Blast Information:
Fill in Marketing and Playbill Copy Template by the deadline specified by Production Management and send to Admin Office (Kanika, [email protected]).
Create a ticketing platform on Google Forms or Ticket Tailor by the deadline specified by Production Management. Send to Tom and Dana for approval before sending to Theatre Admin Office to be included in Email blasts.
Marketing Materials Include (but are not limited to):
Program that Includes:
- Title of Show
- Playwright/Author type set at 75% of Title
- Translator (if applicable) type set at 50% of Title
- Director type set at 49% or less of Title
- Cast list, director’s note, dramaturgy note, special thanks, ADA statement & content warning
- Approximate Run Time
- Content Warning (if needed) for any nudity, intimacy, violence, adult themes, gunshots, strobes, etc.
- Note(s) from the Director and/or Dramaturg(s)
- Bios for the Cast and Creative Teams approved by each individual and Production Management
- Name in bold (Character Name/Production Role) 75-word bio. All play titles, TV shows, films, and books should be italicized. Nothing should be in all caps. This is the only formatting needed. A style guide for bios sent to cast/creative is highly encouraged.
- Any requirements for billing, advertising, etc. that are part of the rights/licensing agreement
- Special Thanks
- CU SOA Logo
- MFTA Logo (if resource was used)
- Proofread and ensure the program has all of the necessary information
Program is Due the Monday before performances begin by 5pm to the Production Manager.
Teams are responsible for the printing of their own programs. You are able to use the printer in 601 Dodge, but please note this is a black & white printer.
The approved Theatre Program billing order for the title page is:
- Playwright
- Translator
- Director
- Dramaturg
- General Manager/Producer
- PSM
- ASMs
- Company Manager
- Composer (Above playwright position for musicals)
- Choreographer
- Scenic
- Costumes
- Lighting
- Sound
- Props
- Projection
- Fight Choreographer
- Intimacy Director
- Dance Captain
The approved Theatre Playbill order for Bios is:
- Cast, in alphabetical order
- Director (if a directing project) / Playwright (if a studio collaboration project) followed by Creative Team, in alphabetical order
Credits listed in bios should follow the following formatting:
- Italics for titles of longer works (books, titles, TV shows, films)
- Double quotation marks for shorter works (single poems, essays, episodes of a show, etc.)
- While it's typical in the theatre and film industries to use ALL CAPS for titles, we do not use that format at SOA, and stick with italics instead.

Ticketing Platform is due on the Tuesday that is the week before Load In by 5pm to the Production Manager
