CUID

The Columbia University ID Card (CUID) is the passport to Columbia’s campuses. It allows access to Columbia’s libraries and secured University locations, including academic buildings, Dodge Fitness Center, and residence halls where applicable. This includes many of the buildings that house Theatre Program classes, rehearsals, and events. Because of this, it is vital that students carry their CUID with them at all times.

To obtain a new or replacement CUID, students must go to 204 Kent Hall during normal business hours and bring a valid photo ID (e.g., license, passport, etc.).

As soon as it is discovered that a CUID has been lost, please deactivate it right away online through SSOL or in person at 204 Kent. For a replacement card, any swipe access on the old card will be deactivated and transferred to the replacement card. In some cases, this may take up to 24 hours to process. Lab or specialty access, and housing access may need to be reloaded onto the new ID card after the new replacement is issued. There is a $20 non-refundable fee for replacement of lost/stolen University ID cards payable by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or charged directly to the student’s account. Students must be registered for at least one course in the current term or the term following in order to replace a University ID card.

The buildings that Theatre Program students have access to is determined by their concentration. For any problem accessing a building with a CUID, contact Public Safety.
